Mark has methodological interests in the analysis of longitudinal data. He teaches introductory and advanced time series courses at the ICPSR summer program.
He is a specialist in Comparative politics, with a particular interest in public opinion and democratic responsiveness and accountability. His research focuses on political information, public opinion, the media, election campaigns and electoral institutions.
His work has appeared in several venues, including, the Journal of Politics, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Behavior, Electoral Studies, Political Studies, and the Canadian and British Journals of Political Science.
